A bit of history

Founded by two computer vision experts at the core of Telefónica R&D in 2011, our team thrills to create a world where product search always starts with an image.

Awarded with international recognition for its solutions, Catchoom has an obsession for building products with superior performance, scalability, and business impact. Our proprietary technology delivers millions of visual searches every month.

2011

Catchoom is founded in Barcelona, Spain. It spins off from Telefónica R&D, after four years of intensive computer vision product development.

2014

CraftAR, the Augmented Reality toolbox, is released to the market.

2018

Catchoom introduces its deep tagging solution to the market, enabling the automatic generation of product information from images.

2012

Catchoom receives the investment from the Inveready Technology Group and launches its Catchoom Recognition Service, powering Layar and Metaio.

2016

Catchoom collaborates with Intel to release it’s on-device image recognition capabilities, bringing all the power of its core technology to embedded mobile applications.

2020

Catchoom joins forces with Humai in Austria and Slyce in the US to create Partium, a part recognition technology provider.
