What is a Collection?
When you upload an image to CraftAR, you select the specific Collection (group of images) that image belongs to. At the time of recognition, your app searches only inside one specific Collection. This allows you to have multiple apps within the same account: each pointing to a different Collection, and therefore each with separate analytics, management and secure content separation.
What is a Visual Scan?
An attempt to scan any object, regardless of the result. A Cloud Visual Scan is a request sent from your app to the CraftAR Cloud Service to recognize an object. An On-Device Visual Scan is performed by the On-Device Image Recognition SDK, which has no scan limits.
What happens if I get more scans than those included in my plan?
Overage scanning is allowed in Plus and Pro plans. If you go above the monthly allowance, charges apply. Contact us to know more about overage pricing.
Do I need a CraftAR Service paid subscription to publish an offline app?
You need a paid subscription together with one of our add-ons (On-Device Image Recognition and/or the Augmented Reality) to generate on-device bundles that allow you to distribute your app into a public app store.
Once you’ve created those bundles, you can go back to a free subscription. If you need to update the collection, you’ll need to subscribe again. The add-on fee is only paid once for each account.
Do I need a CraftAR Service paid subscription if I don’t intend to use Cloud Image Recognition?
Only if you need to generate or update on-device bundles for a published app. This happens if your app runs offline and you need to make changes to the items that are embedded or get synchronized with your app.
What happens if I pay the one-off fee for an add-on but I’m on the CraftAR Service Free plan?
In this case, Cloud Image Recognition will be limited to the scans of the free plan (see table below). Generating on-device bundles in a Free plan is limited to development apps, and not available for distribution apps to upload into a public app store.
