Layar did some benchmarking earlier this year with more than 100,000 images from real users and real campaigns, they felt that Catchoom’s technology found a match in 98% of the cases. Don’t take our word for it, here is what Dirk Groten, CTO from Layar had to say…
“Layar benchmarked Catchoom’s technology in 2013 against three of their main competitors and found they had the best results in terms of recall rates, while speed and false positive rates remained competitive.
Even with very bad lighting and blurry scanned images, Catchoom was still able to return the correct match.
For interactive print, it’s crucial that end-users get positive results when they scan a page that says it’s augmented with Layar, even if they don’t hold their device optimally.”
